Every year, Anthurium growers and breeders raise money for the Dutch and German heart foundations with the help of the striking heart-shaped flowers of their cut and pot anthuriums. You can also support this fundraising activity!<\/p>\n

Anthurium growers help the Heart Foundation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Last year’s collaboration between Anthurium growers and breeders and the Heart Foundation that involved a Heart Foundation Auction and a collection drive was so successful that September 2018 will again be devoted to this worthwhile cause. And you can pitch in, too!<\/p>\n

Buy an anthurium!<\/h3>\n

From 1 to 30 September, you can donate to the Heart Foundation by buying an Anthurium. If you’d like to support this fundraising campaign, you can buy these special Heart Fund Anthuriums at retail locations in the Netherlands and Germany.\u00a0Every time you buy an Anthurium in the special Heart Foundation packaging, one euro will be donated to the Heart Foundation.<\/p>\n

How the fundraising campaign started<\/h3>\n

Anthurium growers are committed not only to using environmentally responsible cultivation methods to obtain a sustainable product but they also wanted to devote their efforts to a good cause. The growers and breeders initiated this fundraising campaign because scientific research showed that having houseplants in a room could help hasten a patient’s recovery. Since Anthuriums are also the only plants that produce a heart-shaped flower, it was easy to associate them with the human heart. As a result, the growers have been helping the Dutch and German heart foundations since 2014 by raising money for research into cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n

Hearts for hearts<\/h3>\n

Anthuriums are extremely versatile as houseplants and will brighten up any room. Whether you choose a brightly coloured variety in orange, red or hot pink – or one in a more natural colour like green or sparkling white – an Anthurium has it all. By supporting this campaign, you get a beautiful plant and also donate to a good cause. What could be better than that, right?<\/p>\n
