Pruning can be done any time of year.<\/p>\n<h3>Necessities<\/h3>\n<p>To prune your Anthurium, you will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A pair of secateurs<\/li>\n<li>A plant spray containing water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to prune an Anthurium<\/h3>\n<p>Proceed as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Begin by removing any brown or yellow leaves. If they don&#8217;t come away easily, you can trim them off with your secateurs.<\/li>\n<li>The best way to remove faded flowers is to snip off their stem at the base of the plant. This keeps the plant from investing its energy in seed production instead of a beautiful new flower.<\/li>\n<li>Then take a look at the Anthurium plant as a whole. Remove any leaves that deviate from the natural shape of the plant. These are the ones that are too tall or growing off at an odd angle. Water it twice a week in the summer, in the winter once a week is sufficient. Make sure that the potting soil never is completely dry, but don&#8217;t let the plant drown in water either.
