Whether at Christmas, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, around the turn of the year, there are many occasions to invite friends or family to dinner and to make the table festive. Hamburg-based interior designer and stylist Wolfram Neugebauer relies on clear black and white for his festive table decoration. For him, this includes fine tableware.

Black and White as a Style Statement

Wolfram Neugebauer gives the following decoration tip for the holidays:

“I like contrasts and like to mix classic porcelain with contemporary ceramics. For a special twist, I combine different decors, for example, plains with geometric patterns. I arrange my antique silver cutlery, and of course, fine cloth napkins are not to be missed.”

The concentration on black and white gives the table setting a pure, elegant touch, and the whole thing looks particularly festive. Burning candles is a must; they create a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Fresh flowers should not be missing on any occasion. Flowers of only one kind are elegant, preferably in clear white.

White Anthuriums as an Eye-Catcher

A wonderful eye-catcher that goes well with a minimalist look are always white anthuriums. You can use them well for creating a special centrepiece and fill a large amount of the cut flowers into an unusual vase object. Shorter flowers in small jars or vases in the middle of the table go well with this. In addition, a single, particularly beautiful Anthurium flower for each guest on his or her seat. It is nice to combine the Anthurium blossoms with a beautiful napkin ring.

Additional Floral Decoration in the Room

An extra tip from Wolfram Neugebauer: For festive occasions, another floral arrangement next to the dining table is an eyecatcher, for example, on the buffet. To do this, you can group vases with unusual structures or silhouettes into a small, fine ensemble. Finally, just add water and a large bunch of white anthuriums. This creates a flowery eye-catcher for a special evening and a very beautiful atmosphere!
