Floral dining with anthurium on Valentine’s Day
Simone is a foodie at heart. With Valentine’s Day approaching, we asked her to share culinary inspiration for a romantic table setting featuring cut Anthuriums – the perfect heart-shaped flower for floral dining.
Floral dining
Romantic dinner
Want to surprise your Valentine with a romantic dinner? These colourful and flavourful dishes are the perfect choice. Start with a velvety goat’s cheese mousse and a vegetarian tartare of tomato, beetroot, capers and dill, served with a crunchy cheese biscuit. You can find the full recipe here. Or how about pink hummus with picos – small, crispy crackers reminiscent of breadsticks? A splash of beetroot juice gives the hummus a beautiful pink hue. And since no romantic meal is complete without something sweet, finish with a light and airy pink meringue topped with whipped cream and fresh raspberries. Don’t forget to add the most important ingredient: love!

Table styling with flowers
For the table styling, Simone selected a mix of glasses and vases in various shapes and heights from around the house. This creates a playful and dynamic foundation. An important detail is that the glassware is spotless – the cleaner the vase, the longer the flowers stay fresh. Once filled with water, the Anthuriums are carefully arranged. Just like the dishes, the flowers are chosen in romantic shades of pink, with subtle variations in colour and size. Trimming the stems at different heights creates a beautifully layered and elegant arrangement – perfect for an atmospheric Valentine’s Day table and floral dining experience.
That Anthuriums are a perfect fit for Valentine’s Day is no coincidence – just look at their shape. With their heart-shaped flowers, they symbolise love, making them ideal for a romantic setting. Unlike Simone’s dishes, which will be enjoyed in no time, Anthuriums last for weeks. These resilient flowers stay fresh for a long time, especially when displayed solo in a vase. Thanks to their sturdy, leafless stems, the water remains clear, allowing your Valentine’s Day feeling to linger for three to four weeks!
