They blend these contrasting styles to create a home with earthy tones, wood and brushed brass/platinum accents. Explore their unique interior at: charisathome.com.
Taking Anthuriums Outside
Recently, Charis took her anthuriums outside onto her terrace. Summer is an ideal time to move houseplants outdoors, but make sure to keep them out of direct sunlight. Instead, opt for a shaded area, such as under a canopy, as Charis did. The pleasant summer temperatures and occasional rain showers benefit Anthuriums by rinsing off dust and dirt from the leaves, which helps them absorb light more effectively—crucial for their health. If your plants are under a canopy where rain can’t reach them, make sure to mist them regularly using a soft spray nozzle to keep them hydrated.

Enjoying the Outdoors Until Autumn
When should you bring your anthuriums back inside? Keep an eye on the weather forecast. If night temperatures drop below 16°C, it’s time to move the anthuriums indoors. With today’s long and warm summers, you can usually enjoy your anthuriums on the terrace or balcony until October. After that, continue to enjoy their beauty indoors. Did you know that anthuriums are among the longest-flowering houseplants? They can bloom for several months and multiple times a year, with some varieties even flowering continuously. So, you can look forward to putting your anthuriums outside again next year!
